Fueling Families, Year After Year: Food Lion Feeds Continues Vital Support

Families Together is proud to be a recipient of the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation. We are so grateful to Food Lion Feeds for their renewed and stronger commitment to families in crisis in Wake County, NC, especially, now, when families face unprecedented challenges regarding housing and job stability.

Partnership with the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation means that kids experiencing homelessness won’t go hungry. These funds will directly support the most vulnerable members of our community – families, often with young children, who are going through a period of transition and instability. As Families Together Mentor Advocates work with parents to get back on their feet, we ensure no child goes to school with an empty stomach or wonder where their next meal will come from.

As a leader in combating family homelessness in Wake County for the past 45 years, Families Together knows all too well the impact that hunger and homelessness have on children and families. When kids are homeless, they are three times more likely to have emotional and behavioral problems, and four times more likely to get sick.
