Leave A Legacy

You can make an enduring, positive impact on the lives of children and families in Wake County through a planned gift with potential tax savings for you and your family. A few examples:

  • Support PLM Families Together by leaving us a bequest in your will or living trust. A bequest is generally a revocable gift, which means it can be changed or modified at any time.

  • Make a charitable donation from your IRA. If you’re 70 ½ or older, you can satisfy your required minimum distribution and enjoy tax benefits in this way.

  • Donate appreciated stock and avoid capital gains taxes. Receive a charitable tax deduction and further the mission of Families Together. Use this stock gift form and contact Kelly@FamiliesTogetherNC.com in advance so your stock donation can be easily tracked for your tax purposes.

  • Donor Advised Funds are one of the fastest-growing charitable tools because they make giving simple and strategic. With a DAF, donors can:

      • Recommend grants to organizations they care about, like Families Together

      • Maximize tax benefits and simplify record-keeping

      • Create a legacy of giving that involves the whole family

If you already have a DAF, recommending a gift is easy. If you’re interested in starting one, talk with your financial advisor or local community foundation about how a DAF can help you make a meaningful impact for children and their families experiencing homelessness. When recommending a DAF to our mission, please designate PLM Families Together.
