Our Mission
Through direct support and advocacy, we assist families with children as they transition from homelessness to sustainable housing and stable homes.
Our Belief
We believe every family deserves a home, and children should never have to wonder where they're going to sleep at night. This is why we connect families to stable homes as quickly as possible - and why we remain connected with them to ensure that they begin the process of bettering their lives. Children experiencing homelessness are more likely to drop out of school, be exposed to violence, and face a host of behavioral, social and health issues. Keeping families together during this traumatic time is critical for their success as well as the community's.
OUR VALUES
Care
We have a deep concern for children and families experiencing homelessness in our community. We understand that each family has a unique story, and we seek to provide them with the best of care. As we strive to cultivate an environment of compassion, respect, and responsiveness, we center the voices and choices of clients alongside the knowledgeable skills of our staff.
Advocacy
We work with and support families to increase their knowledge, skills, and connections to resources to establish stability and long-term success. By working with and not doing for, we seek to help families take control of their lives and claim a better future for their children. We are committed to leveraging our knowledge, impact, resources, and relationships to shift policies and systems that will lead to the end of family homelessness in our community.
Trust
We acknowledge that relationships are an integral aspect of our work, and we cultivate relationships by building trust among ourselves and with our clients, community partners, and supporters. We intentionally practice consistency, honesty, and transparency to foster a collaborative environment, help clients achieve their goals, and evaluate our impact.
Transformation
We activate optimism and hope to help families reach their full potential and thrive. We seek to create a supportive and welcoming environment for all families regardless of race, ethnicity, age, religion, or sexual orientation. We seek to build an inclusive staff and board of directors that reflects our community and brings wide-ranging perspectives and life experiences to our work. We are adaptable and employ the best practices and strategies that will most quickly move families to housing and stability.
