No homeless families in our community
Moving Families in Wake and surrounding counties from homelessness to stable homes through mentoring, housing support and connection to community resources.
We believe every family deserves a home, and children should never have to wonder where they're going to sleep at night. This is why we connect families to stable homes as quickly as possible - and why we remain connected with them to ensure that they begin the process of bettering their lives. Children experiencing homelessness are more likely to drop out of school, be exposed to violence, and face a host of behavioral, social and health issues. Keeping families together during this traumatic time is critical for their success as well as the community's.
We strive to help families become stronger and more confident by providing new knowledge, skills, and connections to community resources. By working with and not doing for, we seek to help families take control of their lives and claim a better future for their children.
We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment open to all families regardless of race, ethnicity, age, religion, or sexual orientation. We seek to build a diverse staff and board of directors that reflects our community and brings wide-ranging perspectives and life experiences to our work.
We are committed to acting rapidly and skillfully to serve families experiencing homelessness. We believe that by moving families into safe, permanent housing as quickly as possible, we reduce the physical and mental health consequences on the lives of the children.
We have a deep concern for children and families experiencing homelessness in our community. We seek to provide them with the best of care. We understand that each family has a unique story and it is not our place to judge.
We believe the primary decision-making role belongs to families we serve. We listen. We coach. And we provide specialized professional support. Ultimately, we believe each family we serve has the potential to overcome immense challenges and go on tho become self-sufficient.
We seek to be the best possible resource and representative for families experiencing homelessness. As "first responders" in a continuum of care, we have a unique and important window into the daunting challenges they must overcome to secure a safe and stable home. We are resolute and determined to tell this story with authenticity in order to inspire and motivate action for the betterment of children and families in our community.
We are progressive, innovative, and continually moving forward - employing best practices and new strategies that will most quickly move families to housing and stability. We continue to collaborate in our efforts and are nimble in our rapid response to families in need - adapting our services to their needs.
Though realistic in our knowledge and understanding of the realities the families we serve face, we remain optimistic, confident, ans forward-looking in our belief that solutions exist and families can reach their full potential and we will be there to assist.
Everything we do, we do with a deep sense of good intention, honestly and transparency. We honor each other and work solidly as a team, and we honor our clients by working as hard as we can to help them achieve their goals and to hold them accountable to meeting the goals that they set.
Partnership and collaboration with other agencies in the region are critical to our success. In addition, we strive to build strong relationships with policy makers and local government, and we collaborate regularly with faith groups, volunteer groups, and our internal team. We could not excel were it not for these relationships, and we remain intent on strengthening and growing our networks.
