Urgently Needed: Food Donations
As many of you may have heard, starting November 1st, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits have been paused until further notice. This change will affect so many of our neighbors at a time when groceries are already unaffordable for a lot of families struggling to put food on the table, all while trying to pay rent prices that just keep getting steeper. Most of the families we serve will now be faced with difficult choices. For Wake County children and their families, the loss of this essential resource could mean the difference between having a roof over their heads or nutritious food in their stomachs.
Families Together remains committed to supporting local families in any way we can during times of crisis like this and we know many of you feel the same. We are working with community partners to source donations of food and grocery store gift cards for our families so that they can continue focusing on working towards a secure home where their families can thrive.
