Our Action Plan
Funds raised in our spring “Building Hope, Growing Community” campaign will be used to advance the action plan outlined below:
Strengthen and expand the Financial Empowerment and Employment (FEE) program which provides one-on-one support with services tailored to meet the family’s financial health goals including credit repair, money management, budgeting, and financial literacy training as well as employment support with job connections, resume building and mock interviews.
Expand our Emergency Shelter capacity – especially where the biggest community gap exists (households with a male above 15 years of age). This includes building an addition with 4 apartment units plus adding 15 motel rooms that will be managed by FT for family shelter.
Advance plans for a Cottage Court housing development on FT-owned land to serve as a mix of permanent rental and transitional housing for extremely low-income families. Preliminary plans have been developed and visioning sessions have been held. Our goal is to create a shared community vision for the Cottage Court.
Expand our role as a leading housing support provider in our community’s coordinated response for homeless families. Families Together aims to grow our Housing Programs team and provide expanded, comprehensive, low barrier support to families experiencing homelessness.
Grow and maintain a portfolio of Affordable Housing. In the last 2.5 years, we have increased the number of units owned and/or managed by FT from 6 to 23. We need to complete renovations on 7 recently acquired units and prepare them for families to move in as soon as possible.
