8,000 children in Wake County will experience homelessness this year.
The number is big—but change starts with one.
One child. One safe night. One new beginning.
Right now, families in our community are caught in the affordable housing crisis. Children are sleeping in cars, storage units, and on the streets. Others are split up, couch-hopping between friends. This year, the need is greater than ever.
At Families Together, we believe that every child deserves a place to call home—and a community that supports their journey forward.
Your support helps a child find home, community, and a new beginning.
Every day, our team works alongside families to break the cycle of homelessness by providing not just housing, but the tools and support they need to thrive, including:
✔️ Personalized case management to address each family’s unique needs.
✔️ Connections to essential resources like childcare, healthcare, and basic necessities.
✔️ Financial empowerment and employment support to build lasting stability.
✔️ Life skills workshops on tenant rights, budgeting, home maintenance, self-care, and more.
Together, we can make sure every child has a place to call home.

Rising from the Ashes: Swift Action, Stronger Future
On December 30th, a devastating fire destroyed one of our emergency shelter buildings, reducing our capacity by four critical units. Thankfully, all families escaped unharmed.
Within hours, Families Together secured emergency housing, provided essential supplies, and connected families with mental health support. The community responded with incredible generosity, offering clothing, food, and transportation to help families feel secure in the wake of trauma.
To ensure families continue receiving safe, stable shelter, we have expanded our investment in extended-stay hotel housing, allowing us to meet urgent needs while navigating long-term recovery efforts.
For 45 years, Families Together has turned setbacks into new beginnings—because every family deserves a place to call home.
