MENTOR ADVOCATE (STABILIZATION)
Amelia grew up in rural West Virginia. With both parents being health care providers, it’s easy to see how Amelia found her way to Families Together. Her role as a Mentor Advocate is focused on stabilization support for families after moving to permanent housing. Her understanding of how social class affects people's lives led her to pursue Human Service Studies at Elon University where she received her BA. Since then, Amelia received her MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. As a child Amelia dreamed of one day being a psychiatrist. We’re thrilled she decided to put her skills and experience into furthering our mission to move families from homelessness to home.
